On the other hand, with the impeachment motion against President Yoon being passed by the National Assembly, the third presidential impeachment trial in constitutional history will be held in the Constitutional Court.
The Constitutional Court will issue a ruling on impeachment within 180 days. In the meantime, Prime Minister Han Deok-soo will act as acting president.
If the Constitutional Court rejects the impeachment petition, President Yoon will immediately return to his duties, but if it accepts, he will be removed from office.
