People's Power: ”We urge the ruling on the second trial of Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung's violation of the Public Offices Election Act to be made before February 15th next year” (South Korea)
On the 16th, the People Power Party (ruling party) passed a resolution calling for the second trial verdict in the case against Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung for violating the Public Offices Election Act to be delivered 'before February 15th of next year.'
Kim Dae-sik, chief floor spokesman for the People's Power, passed a resolution calling for a swift and fair verdict from the judiciary at a general assembly that afternoon.
In its resolution, the People's Power said, "The judiciary must conduct trials of crimes that threaten the people's livelihood and national order swiftly and unwaveringly in accordance with the law and principles.
"Representative Lee Jae-myung is facing eight cases, 12 allegations and five trials. He has delayed his own trial and used political intimidation against the investigating authorities and the judiciary.
"The crime-proof politics of Lee Jae-myung, who has been accused of crimes against humanity, are a major cause of the recent national crisis," he said. "The Public Offices Election Act requires that trials be completed within six months for the first hearing, three months for the second hearing, and three months for the third hearing.
Therefore, the second-instance ruling in the case of Lee Jae-myung for violating the Public Offices Election Act, for which a first-instance ruling was handed down on November 15, must be handed down by February 15 next year," he emphasized.
The People's Power Party said, "We hope that the second trial verdict will be delivered quickly because the facts are clear in the trial of Lee Jae-myung on charges of instigating perjury. We, along with Lee Jae-myung, are deliberately delaying the trial with tactics by the Democratic Party."
"We strongly warn that the people will not tolerate this any more," he said. The People's Power urged the judiciary to make a swift and fair ruling, saying, "The Constitutional Court will follow the procedures set out in the Constitution and law in the impeachment proceedings against the president.
"We hope that the government will make a fair and strict decision based on the above," he said. "The People's Power solemnly resolves to make every effort to stabilize national affairs and restore the constitutional order of separation of powers," he added.
I got it.
