The plan is to "effectively respond to common opportunities and challenges in the financial sphere" through the "Japan-Korea Regular Meeting on Financial Supervision" (Shuttle Meeting).
South Korea's Financial Services Commission and Financial Supervisory Service announced that they held the seventh Korea-Japan Regular Financial Supervisory Meeting (two days) in Tokyo on the 16th with the Japan Financial Services Agency.
On the first day, Lee Bok-hyun, Chairman of the Financial Supervisory Service of Korea, and Hideki Ito, Commissioner of the Japanese Financial Services Agency, gave talks on the current state of the global economy and finance, as well as the capital markets of both countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on major issues facing the two countries. They also reaffirmed their intention to continue mutual cooperation through this meeting.
The South Korean financial authorities said, "We will continue to communicate with the Japan Financial Services Agency and other major financial authorities to monitor South Korea's financial and economic situation.
"We plan to actively explain the current situation and the policy direction of financial authorities to strengthen cooperation in financial oversight," he said.
