A survey has revealed that one in five American voters have traded, invested in or used cryptocurrencies.

The usage rate decreases as people get older, with 28% of those in their 40s, 17% of those in their 50s, 9% of those in their 60s, and only 4% of those over 70. By gender, men are twice as likely to use virtual currency than women.
The survey also found that 26% of men and 13% of women said they had used cryptocurrency. Nearly a third of cryptocurrency users are Asian, Hispanic or Black, while only 14% are white.
