Italian regulator fines OpenAI for data protection and other violations

Italian regulators have slapped ChatGPT developer OpenAI with a fine of 15 million euros.
The Italian Data Protection Agency has announced that it will levy a $15.7 million fine against Open AI based on the results of its data collection investigation.
The court imposed fines and ordered a six-month public campaign to inform users of Chat GPT's data collection and use practices.
In a statement released on the 20th, IDPA said, "Open AI is responsible for the data leak incident that occurred in March 2023.
The supervisory authority also noted that OpenAI had not provided an adequate legal basis for processing users' personal data to train its chatbots.
