‘Finland on Loan’ has received an explosive response in Asia.

According to the weekly chart for the fourth week of December (16th-22nd Dec) released by Viu, Asia's largest pan-regional OTT platform, on the 26th December, the tvN variety show ‘Rented In Finland’ ranked first in the non-drama category in Indonesia and Thailand. It also ranked No.1 in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. It also ranked second in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong respectively, and is receiving a lot of love across South East Asia.

tvN's ‘Finland Renting In Finland’ is a variety show featuring the local life of Lee Jae-hoon, Lee Dong-hui, Kwak Dong-yeon and Cha Eun Woo (ASTRO), who end up living as renters in a rural village in Finland. Leaving the convenience of cities, where electricity can be turned on at the touch of a button and food can be frozen and refrigerated, they present fun and healing through an analogue life with nature in an environment where there is nothing to do.

One of the main reasons behind the programme receiving such attention abroad in such a short period of time is the fact that Lee Jae-hoon's ‘Revenge Agent - Model Taxi’ series and films such as ‘Goddess Descent’ and ‘Wonderful Days’ starring Cha Eun Woo have shown high results in Viu. The fandom they have built up has led to new challenges and they are widely loved despite the genre specificity of variety shows.

Meanwhile, ‘Viu’ is a streaming service that shows popular Korean content in 16 countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and is operated by Hong Kong-based telecommunications company PCCW. Viu' has recorded the second largest share of the Southeast Asian OTT market (based on MPA data) and is currently receiving great love from global viewers by presenting a variety of K-content.
