On the 26th, the 11th Criminal Division of the Seoul Southern District Court announced that a defendant in a special economic crime case involving embezzlement and bribery was arrested.
An Sung Hyun, who was tried on charges of fraud under the Serious Punishment Act, was sentenced to four years and six months in prison and ordered to forfeit two brand-name watches.
As a result, An Sung Hyun was sentenced to prison. The court ruled that An Sung Hyun had bought designer watches and luxury restaurants.
The court determined that the suspect had received money and valuables, including membership meal vouchers, and ordered him to be detained in court, saying, "The acts of soliciting and receiving money and valuables at virtual asset exchanges undermine the fairness and transparency of the capital market."
Prior to this, in September 2021, An Sung Hyun met with Lee Sang-jun, former CEO of Bithumb Holdings, to request that A Coin be listed on the Bithumb exchange by November of the same year.
It is suspected that An Sung Hyun received billions of won in the process. During the investigation, it was revealed that he received two branded watches and membership cards to high-end restaurants.
However, An Sung Hyun denied the allegations. Later, An Sung Hyun was indicted without detention on charges of fraud for allegedly listing the underside of coins.
At one point, she suspended her activities and expressed her frustration, saying, "I sincerely pray that the truth about the unfortunate and painful events that have befallen our family will be revealed."
Unlike Song YURI's regret, An Sung Hyun was given a prison sentence along with being arrested in court.
Darkness began to hang over the family of An Sung Hyun. Meanwhile, An Sung Hyun married Song Yuri in May 2017 and has two daughters.
