US State Department: ”We stand ready to work with South Korea's new acting president and government”

On the 27th (local time), the US government stated in a statement regarding the impeachment proceedings by the National Assembly against South Korean Acting President (Prime Minister) Han Deok-soo, "We are announcing that Acting President Choi Sang-mok
"We are ready to work together with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance and the South Korean government," the US State Department said in a statement on Tuesday, according to South Korean news agency Yonhap News.
Regarding the impeachment of the acting president Han after the impeachment of the president, he said, "We are witnessing that South Korea is peacefully following the procedures set out in the Constitution."
"Most importantly, South Korea is demonstrating its democratic resilience," the State Department said, adding, "We strongly support the South Korean people throughout this process."
He continued, "We strongly support the U.S.-ROK alliance, which has achieved many accomplishments over the past few years."
