Han Dong-hoon, former chairman of the ruling People's Power Party, appeared online for the first time since stepping down from his position on the 16th.
On the 28th, Representative Han stated in a Feibook post by former People's Power spokesman Song Young-hoon:
The post was posted informing fans that Song had been dismissed from his position as spokesperson for People Power on the 25th, and expressing his thoughts on the matter.
"It wasn't a long period, but I would like to thank the media, the party officials in the Public Information Department, and the party members who supported me as the head of the party," Song said.
"I am grateful for the support. It is with a heavy heart that conservatives are facing an unprecedented crisis," he wrote. "It is precisely at times like these that we need to respond to the center of public opinion, rather than being confined to the political fringes.
We will work together to find what needs to be done to correct conservatism so that it can become a group that can improve its quality, receive the love of the people again, and be repeatedly entrusted by the people.
"I believe that if we don't give up, the time will come and it will be resolved," he said. Song was a close friend of Han's when he was the party leader.
