He also mourned the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster that occurred at Muan International Airport the previous day (29th).
The plane departed from Bangkok, Thailand with 181 people on board, including 175 passengers and six crew members.
Jeju Air Flight 7C 2216, which departed from Seoul and entered Muang, crashed into the runway wall during landing and caught fire, killing 179 people on board. The only survivors were flight attendants who were rescued from the tail of the plane early in the search.
The South Korean government has designated the week from today until January 4th of next year as a national mourning period in regards to the accident.
