The company announced that it had sold over 3 million units by the end of the month. In March of last year, the company launched a "buffet in the mart" concept at Kim's Club, offering over 200 kinds of ready-to-eat meals.
The company launched Delhi by Ashley, a food service provider. The brand offers ready-made meals based on the menu of Ashley Queens, a buffet restaurant operated by Eland Eats.
The product is currently sold at seven locations, including the Gangseo, Bucheon, Gangnam, Bulgwang, Yatap, Daejeon, Yuseong, and Pyeongchon stores.
Unlike the traditional system, there will be a space in the sales area where the chefs can cook directly, and the principle is "cook on the day and sell on the day."
The "TO-GO" products are sold for 3,990 won (about 426 yen). With the introduction of "Delhi by Ashley," sales in the ready-to-cook food category at Kim's Club increased by 1.2% year-on-year.
The company's direct-from-farm system, which eliminates wasteful pricing through direct purchases and management, is also highly regarded. Through this system, Kim's Club sells fresh strawberries, Jeju mandarin oranges, and other products.
In particular, for mandarin oranges, the company has acquired a 330,000m2 field on Cheju Island, where a MD is stationed, and is working to ensure consistent quality through systematic sugar content management.
The system for distributing mandarin oranges that maintain their freshness is now sophisticated. The entire process from harvesting in Jeju to shipping and finally being delivered to stores is completed within three days.
A Kim's Club official said, "We are cutting down on price by selling directly through the fresh grocery section and streamlining our product lineup.
"We plan to strengthen our lineup of restaurants and other businesses. We will also expand our deli department, which is one of E.Land's strengths and has a strong competitive edge in the face of high prices."
