Song Joong-ki showed a new look in the movie "Bogota: Land of Last Chance," completing his Colombian-inspired styling. He also pierced his ears for the first time.
In a recent interview with Herald POP at a cafe in Sogak-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Song Joong-ki revealed the episode of his ear being ripped open.
On that day, Song Joong-ki recalled, "I voluntarily followed the director and producer to Colombia during the pre-production stage," and "I shared with the costume and makeup staff while seeing many people there.”
He continued, "Various ideas came up, but I decided to cut my hair short," and explained, "The piercing was also a look I had never done before in my work, and I thought it might be a natural look I could do during my Colombia fixation period."
Song Joong-ki also stated, "I went to a local tattoo store and actually got my ears pierced," and that he "sometimes tore his ears off during the middle of the action shoot, but the female staff said that such things happen all the time.”
He added, "When I first saw the clothes the costume designer brought, I thought, 'Does this make sense?' but it made sense. The locals wore red pants and blue tops," he said, adding, "What I thought might have been excessive was just right to express Kook-ki's adaptation to Bogota.
Meanwhile, Song Joong-ki's new film, "Bogota: Land of Last Chance," tells the story of Kook-ki (Song Joong-ki), who heads to Bogota, Colombia, on the other side of the world with new hopes immediately after the Korean currency crisis, and becomes entangled with Su-young (Lee Hee-jung), the real power in the Korean community in Bogota, and Captain Park (Kwon Hye-hyo). The story unfolds as he becomes entangled with Soo-yeon (Lee Hee-jung), the real power in the Bogota Korean community, and Captain Park (Kwon Hye-hyo).
