Heavy snow warning lifted for South Korea's capital region and other areas... Downgraded from ”alert” to ”concern”
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety of South Korea announced that it would lift the heavy snowfall warning issued for some areas, including the capital region, as of 4 p.m. on the 5th, and lower the crisis alert level from "alert" to "caution."
The first level of emergency work at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters was also lifted. This measure was taken at around 8 a.m. on the same day by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters in response to the forecast of heavy snowfall mainly in the capital area and Gangwon Province.
The heavy snowfall warning level was raised from "caution" to "alert" at the time. According to the Korea Meteorological Agency, the snowfall continued until the 6th, with heavy snowfall in Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do and Gangwon-do being reported.
Snowfall is expected to reach 3-10cm in Gangwon-do, 3-8cm in Seoul, and 1-5cm in Incheon. However, heavy snow warnings have been lifted for most of the capital region and Gangwon-do.
The snow is gradually weakening.
