Many posts and photos were published claiming to have seen Han. Wearing a black coat, Han appears to have ordered and picked up a coffee at a cafe.
The person who posted the photo wrote, "Former Representative Han looks peaceful, has gained weight, and appears to be in good health, which is good."
Han resigned as party leader on December 16 last year and has been in hiding for about 20 days since then. Recently, there have been rumors in political circles that he may return.
Kim Jeong-hyuk, a pro-Korean former supreme council member, said on KBS Radio's "Dengeki Jiji" that "former Chairman Han did not commit a crime and then flee," and added, "He will probably take some kind of action from January onwards."
Another pro-Korean lawmaker said, "The People's Power Party is not able to reflect the will of the people, but (former Chairman Han) will issue a statement that represents the will of the people," and added, "I don't plan to continue being involved in politics in the future."
Han said that he had been the chairman since December 16th of last year, when all five of the Supreme Council members resigned following the passage of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol.
At the time, Han told his supporters that he would "not give up," hinting at his return. Meanwhile, Han had been in hiding since the devastating defeat in the general elections on April 10 last year.
At the time, photos of Han were posted of him at Yangjae Library in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and he was also featured in the online community.
There were numerous reports of him taking photos with his supporters, leading to criticism of "eyewitness politics."
