According to the Korean news agency Newsis, Rep. Yoon visited the presidential office in Seoul with about 20 members of the steering committee of the ruling party's non-parliamentary party, and then went to the office to meet President Yoon.
Meanwhile, on the previous day (9th) via social media, Rep. Yoon explained the reason for trying to protect President Yoon.
"President Yoon has spent his entire life as a prosecutor and has walked the path of exposing evil," Rep. Yoon said.
Those who are thought to have committed crimes, whether they be business magnates, politicians, or the president, will be confronted according to principle without being disrespectful, and will declare, "I am not loyal to anybody. I am loyal only to the people."
"He is a man who has proven his beliefs," he said. "It is frustrating to compare Prosecutor Yoon Seok-yeol with President Yoon Seok-yeol. In a political arena where dialogue and compromise are important, if he were to distinguish between right and wrong and conduct politics like a prosecutor, he would be unable to do anything.
"It's difficult to move forward with this," he wrote. "But it was our people who brought in such a person as a presidential candidate.
"We are aware of President Yoon's strengths and weaknesses," he said.
"Even though he knows where he is, he decided to serve us because of our needs. At the very least, I think that as a member of the People Power Party, he should not be avoiding his responsibility to President Yoon," he explained.
"Until now, President Yoon has fought against the dark cartels in our society without compromise," he said. "While many politicians have made compromises, President Yoon will not do that."
"That is why we are facing such a big challenge now. We must not turn our backs on each other. We must overcome adversity together," he said.
