SHINee's TAEMIN explains the reason for not participating in SM Concert... ”We're sorry we couldn't show the complete group. We're in discussion with the company.”

SHINee's Taemin, who left SM to join Big Planet Made Entertainment, explained the circumstances behind his absence from SM's 30th anniversary group concert.

On the 13th January, Taemin said via the fan communication platform Bubble, "I'm speaking carefully because I thought there might be some fans who are worried about SHINee. I'm sorry that I couldn't show you ‘SHINee’ during ‘SMTOWN’. I wanted to finish the dialogue between the companies as soon as possible and show you the appearance of ‘SHINee’, but the dialogue is going to take some time."

Taemin said, "Still, we are talking a lot and we will be able to sort things out soon. I'm also protecting ‘SHINee’ with the members and there are many stories I want to write more about in the future", and added, “So if you are worried that my thoughts are 'maybe SHINee doesn't want to do this’ or ‘can we see SHINee in the future’, please don't worry about that. You know what I mean."

Revealing the reason why he could not attend SM's group concert, Taemin said "I hope that what I have to say will not be hurtful to anyone. Once again, all the members love ‘SHINee’ and feel the same way, so we are in the process of careful maintenance and preparation to start ‘SHINee’ smoothly, so we will definitely see you soon with a smile!"

Prior to this, ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2025 [THE CULTURE, THE FUTURE]’ was held at the Gocheok Skydome in Seoul over two days on the 11th and 12th January, and many artists performed at the concert, which was held to celebrate SM's 30th anniversary, SHINee', only Kee and Minho appeared on stage. However, On-Yoo did participate in SM's 30th anniversary-related content and other events.
