The research results have been patented both in Korea and abroad. The research, conducted with Dr. Kim JINHO of the Korea Ceramic Technology Institute, is the manufacture of all-solid-state batteries using polymer and oxide composites with light sintering technology.
The core of this research is the advancement of the process. The light sintering technology used in the process of printed circuit boards was applied to battery manufacturing. A paper on this research was published in the academic journal "ACS Energy Letters."
The paper also published the results of a study into the possibility of applying manganese-rich cathode materials to sulfide-based solid-state batteries.
The research was published in the scientific journal Advanced Energy Materials in December 2024. The company has developed two solid-state batteries: a polymer-oxide composite battery and a sulfide battery.
The two companies are currently developing a next-generation battery pilot project, with the goal of producing prototypes for commercialization in 2027 and 2029, respectively.
The plant is scheduled for completion in the second half of the year.
