Beijing to welcome 3.942 million tourists in 2024 - Chinese media

According to data released by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the number of tourists entering Beijing in 2024 will be 3.942 million, up 186.8% from the previous year, and the number of tourists entering the city in 2019, before the COVID-19 virus outbreak, is expected to reach 2.2 million.
This is a recovery to 88.9% of the previous year. Of these, tourists from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan accounted for 18.5% at 729,000 people, an increase of 10.3% from 2019.
The number of visitors was 3.213 million, accounting for 81.5%, recovering to 85.1% of the 2019 level. According to the tourist service center of the Mutianyu Great Wall, a visitable section of the World Heritage site, the number of visitors to the Great Wall will increase by 2024.
In 2018, the number of visitors to the Mutianyu Great Wall tourist area exceeded 2 million for the first time, of which 40% were foreign tourists. The tourist area has promoted payment convenience and multilingual services to attract foreign tourists.
They plan to further promote the appeal of the Great Wall to visitors.
