On the 15th, Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo criticized the arrest of President Yoon Seok-yeol on charges of masterminding a rebellion, saying, "It's like a country in South America."
Mayor Hong wrote on Fei Book that day, "The High Public Officials Crime Investigation Agency, which has an invalid warrant and no investigative powers, should have reported the results of the impeachment proceedings.
Mayor Hong said, "Unlike the time of former President Park Geun-hye, a significant number of citizens are said to be opposed to the arrests, but I am concerned about how the matter will be resolved in the future."
Prior to this, Mayor Hong had said in the morning of the day President Yoon's arrest warrant was executed, "Who will become a fisherman in the Battle of the Egret (a battle between two people to give a third party an advantage)?"
He also wrote a message asking himself who would benefit from the political turmoil of the impeachment scandal. Meanwhile, President Yoon was arrested by investigative authorities as the first president in constitutional history.
After his arrest, President Yoon was transferred to the Public Prosecutor's Office's video investigation room at the Government Complex in Gwacheon, but it has been learned that he is currently exercising his right to refuse to make a statement.
President Yoon is accused of illegally declaring emergency martial law on the 3rd of last month, mobilizing the military and police with the intent of disrupting the national constitution, and inciting riots (as the head of a rebellion).
