BTS' JIMIN and ”Who” break K-POP solo song streaming record on Spotify
JIMIN of BTS has made history as a K-POP solo artist on Spotify, the world's largest music stream service.
The title track "Who" from JIMIN's second album "MUSE" has surpassed 1,328,110,000 plays. This feat comes just 176 days after its release on July 19.
This makes it the most played K-Pop solo song in Spotify history. JIMIN has previously released his solo song "Like
He held the Spotify record for the most streamed K-pop solo song with "Crazy," but this time he broke that record himself.
Jimin is the only Korean solo artist with two songs that have been played over 1.3 billion times on Spotify. As of January 15, "Who" has been played 1.342 billion times,
"Like Crazy" has been played 1,324,240,000 times. He achieved this on his own without collaborating with any other global artist.
"Who" remained in the top 10 of Spotify's Global Daily Top Songs Chart for 159 days, the longest period for a song by a Korean artist.
It has been ranked number one on Korea's daily top song charts since its release. JIMIN is also very active on Spotify. On January 11th, he released his personal account on Spotify.
In the two years and nine months since the count was launched, the total number of plays for the 34 songs has exceeded 6 billion. The only K-pop solo artist to have had more than 4.8 billion plays for his solo songs is JIM.
