Texas Senator Proposes ”Strategic Bitcoin Reserve” Bill in New Session

A U.S. Texas senator has introduced a bill in the new legislative session that would establish a strategic bitcoin reserve in the state of Texas.

Senator Les Schwertner announced the Senate bill (SB 778) through his Twitter account, saying, "It's time for Texas to take the lead in establishing a strategic Bitcoin reserve."
"If the bill passes and becomes law, Texas will be the first state in the United States to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve," he said.
"The Texas Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Act will put the state at the forefront of the digital economy, foster growth, and ensure economic freedom," he said.
The deal includes provisions allowing the state of Kyiv to own and hold Bitcoin as a financial asset and to accept Bitcoin donations from the public.
