17 people arrested for climbing over the wall of the Seoul Western District Court where President Yoon Seok-yeol was undergoing detention review (South Korea)
On the 18th, 17 people believed to be supporters of President Yoon Seok-yeol entered the Seoul Western District Court without permission, where the pre-arrest interrogation of the suspect (substantive warrant review) of the president was taking place, and the police were called.
At around 5:24 p.m. on that day, a man climbed over the fence at the rear gate of the Western District Court and entered the courthouse grounds, and was arrested red-handed.
The man said, "Whether the communists die or I die, I will see it through to the end. The country is in dire straits because they are trying to arrest the president.
"I was in grave danger," he said. Mapo Police Station plans to charge the man with trespassing and investigate the details of the incident.
After the man was taken away, 16 more people climbed over the courthouse walls and were arrested by police.
Some of Yoon's supporters clung to the walls or grabbed the fences and shook them violently, yelling profanities and shouting at the police.
Supporters who had gathered near the courthouse occupied Mapo-daero after President Yoon attended a warrant hearing and surrounded the courthouse.
They were shouting slogans such as "Impeachment invalid" and "Release the president." Some supporters were seen scuffling with police and climbing onto police minibuses.
As of this minute, the number is 36,000.
