In a 150-page request for an arrest warrant, the investigation bureau described President Yoon as a "typical criminal with deliberate intent" and argued that there was a concern that he might reoffend.
"If they declare martial law two or three times, we will withdraw the troops as soon as the National Assembly votes to lift it," he said.
"There is no reason to hold him in custody. He is making ridiculous claims," he said sarcastically. After the warrant review, President Yoon will be transferred to Seoul Detention House to await the results. Considering the normal schedule, it will take about 10 days for President Yoon to be arrested.
A decision on whether to do so is expected to be made as early as this evening or as late as the following afternoon.
