Democratic Party of Korea: ”The invasion of the court is a riot... a second civil war is becoming a reality” = South Korea
On the 19th, the Democratic Party of Korea defined the violent incident carried out by extremist forces at the Seoul Western District Court in protest against the issuance of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol as a "riot" and warned that "a second civil war is becoming a reality."
Park Chan-dae, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, met with reporters after an emergency general meeting of lawmakers at the National Assembly that day and said, "I witnessed a shocking incident. The judiciary, especially the courts, were rioting.
"I saw the scene of the invasion," he said. He added, "I urge the government not to tolerate this and to take strong measures to put an end to the civil war."
On the morning of the 20th, the Democratic Party of Korea convened a general meeting of the National Assembly's Administrative and Security Committee and Legislation and Judiciary Committee to discuss pending issues with agencies related to the incident.
"A further statement will be made at the press conference by Floor Leader Park tomorrow morning," said Roh Jong-myung, floor spokesman for the Democratic Party.
"We can make rules about the issue and make requests to the government as a political party, but we have decided that both the judicial branch and the executive branch will take this case very seriously and respond swiftly," said House spokesman Roh.
"There should be no misunderstanding that the political world is interfering with or trying to shake up the independent response of the judiciary and executive branches of the government. The Democratic Party of Korea has absolutely no such intention," he said.
The Western District Court incident was also discussed at the closed-door Supreme Committee meeting that followed the general assembly.
In response, he said, "There has been strong criticism and criticism that those in charge, who should be taking responsibility for the riots and apologizing to the people, are not doing so."
Han said, "Chief presidential secretary Jeong Jin-seok said, 'Were these riots aimed at disrupting the constitution? Or were they emergency measures to stop the disruption of the constitution?'
"The people will have to decide whether this is a proper report or not," he said. "Is the Chief of Staff trying to defend this civil unrest?" he asked.
"Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the ruling People's Power Party, also commented that the police may have used excessive force. The truth of the riots can only be seen in the footage and reports taken at the time," he said.
"It's clear just by looking at the content of the statement," he said. "Those who are responsible for this, those who are responsible, are dividing the people in this way and sending out statements and messages that incite riots and civil unrest."
It is extremely inappropriate to release this information and the company must take responsibility for it."
