"I was always ahead of my time with images like 'Squid Game' and 'Squid Game', so when I suddenly saw the word 'martial law' I was very confused," he said.
"I thought that maybe it was a problem, but I think it's something that we're still overcoming and recovering from," he added.
"Mickey 17" is a series of Mickey Mouse characters that are used for dangerous jobs as expendables, and when they die, they are printed again.
The film depicts an unpredictable story of what happens when, as he is experiencing the 17th death crisis, he thinks he is dead and "Mickey 18" is printed on his screen.
The film is based on Tong's "Mickey 7" and will have its global premiere on February 28 in Korea.
