According to the Public Prosecutor's Office on the 22nd, five people, including Director Oh Dong Woon and Deputy Director Lee Jae Seung, were arrested at around 6:20 pm on the 17th near the Government Complex in Gwacheon.
The two men had dinner together at a nearby restaurant for about an hour. The head of the Martial Law Task Force (TF) of the Public Prosecutors' Office, Prosecutor Lee Dae-hwan, Chief of the Investigation Division 3, and the chief prosecutor in the Yoon case, Cha Jong-hyun, Chief of the Investigation Division 4, were also present.
The chief prosecutor of the prosecution was also in attendance, and the prosecutor ordered two bottles of beer and a carbonated drink, and the wine was brought directly from the prosecutor's office.
On the day he requested the arrest warrant, he had dinner with other executives at a barbecue restaurant. Security camera footage from the restaurant was released and showed participants, including Director Wu, pouring wine into wine glasses and toasting.
The video also showed a man, presumably Chief Prosecutor Cha, drinking from a wine glass. At the time, the Public Prosecutors Office charged President Yoon with leading a rebellion and abusing his power.
About 30 minutes after it was announced to the media that an arrest warrant had been requested on suspicion of obstruction of justice, criticism was raised that this was inappropriate, given that the warrant was due to be reviewed the next day.
In response, the Public Prosecutors' Office said, "Only Director Oh and Deputy Director Lee drank wine and beer. There is absolutely no evidence that any members of the investigation team consumed alcohol.
It was meant to encourage the department and to pledge to do our best in executing the warrant, and it was not a gathering for drinking."
The cost of the meal was about 400,000 won (about 43,470 yen) and was paid for under Director Oh's special business expenses.
the prosecutor's office said.
