South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol held his first telephone conversation with Kaya Kallas, the new EU representative for foreign affairs and security policy, on the 22nd. They discussed South Korea-EU relations, Russia-North Korea cooperation, and the Korean Peninsula.

The two sides also agreed to continue cooperating to halt the "Russia-North Korea military cooperation."
They agreed to hold a meeting to further discuss Korea-EU cooperation plans and international situations.
