On the 22nd, Hwang Hee-seong, secretary general of the Fatherland Reform Party, announced on social media that "former Chairman Cho has been transferred."
Cho was sentenced to two years in prison on December 12 last year for illegally getting his daughter and son admitted to college, and was arrested in Seoul on the 16th of the same month.
As a result, unless there is a special pardon or other measure, Cho will continue to be imprisoned in the Seoul Nambu Corrections Center until December 15, 2026.
The Seoul Detention House also currently holds President Yoon Seok-yeol, who is being held on suspicion of being a leader in the rebellion.
On the 21st, Cho wrote in a letter from prison, "I would like to meet Yoon Seok-yeol in Seoul Detention Center, but his movements are being specially controlled.
"However, this has not yet happened," he said, adding, "If we were to meet face to face, I would like to look him in the eye and tell him, 'Yoon Seok-yeol, the mastermind of the civil war, kneel before the people.'"
