South Korea: ”Current police officer arrested and indicted for sexually harassing suspect during transport”

A serving police officer in North Jeolla Province, South Korea, has been arrested and is set to stand trial on suspicion of sexually assaulting a suspect in a case he was handling.
On the 23rd, the Criminal Division 2 of the Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office arrested and indicted Officer A (53), a police officer attached to the Jeonju Police Station, on charges of non-consensual sexual intercourse and assault in the course of duty.
Officer A is suspected of sexually assaulting a female suspect, B, who was in custody, while escorting her to the prosecutor's office on November 8th last year.
Officer A took advantage of the opportunity when the female police officer who was with him at the time left his desk.
During an interview with the prosecutor's human rights protection officer, Suspect B informed the prosecutor that he had been sexually assaulted, and the prosecutor immediately began an investigation.
At the time, a large amount of Officer A's DNA was found on the clothing and body of Suspect B, but Officer A completely denied the allegations, claiming that it may have been intentional.
The police have suspended Officer A and are conducting an investigation.
