Trot singer Kim Ho-Jun has been promoted to a full member of the Korean Music Copyright Association (KMAA). On the 24th, the KMAA announced on its official website that Kim Ho-Jun will be a full member for 2025.
The Association of Korean Music Authors, which manages the copyright property rights of Korean music creators such as songwriters, composers, and arrangers, announces the promotion of 30 people.
Based on criteria such as copyright royalties, creators of various music genres, including popular music, traditional Korean music, children's songs, and religious music, are selected for promotion to full membership.
This year's list of people who have been promoted to regular members includes SEVENTEEN's S.Coups, Younha, Lee Mujin, and EPIK
The names of "HIGH", "The Quiett", "GROOVY ROOM"'s Huimin and MayBee are listed.
The singer Kim Ho-Jun was also among the victims. On May 9 last year, Kim Ho-Jun was drunk driving in Apgujeong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and crashed into a taxi in the oncoming lane.
He is currently on trial for fleeing the scene with his manager. He is also accused of making his manager turn himself in as a substitute. He also reportedly showed up at the police station 17 hours after the accident, so he was drinking heavily to avoid being punished for drunk driving.
Kim Ho-jun was sentenced to two years and six months in prison in the first trial in November last year and is currently in Seoul Detention House awaiting the appeal trial.
An appeal has been filed, and the appeal hearing is set to begin in February.
