South Korea's ruling party: ”President Yoon's indictment is a clear miscarriage of justice by the prosecution”

On the 27th, South Korea's ruling party, the People Power Party, criticized the arrest and indictment of President Yoon Seok-yeol, calling it a "clear miscarriage of justice by the prosecution."
On the same day, Kwon Yeong-sei, chairman of the ruling party's emergency response committee, wrote on Facebook, "The government is trying to bring about the collapse of the rule of law.
"The head of the High-Ranking Public Officials Crime Investigation Agency, which has been investigating the case, and the prosecutor general, who has bowed down to him, should immediately resign," Kwon said.
The fact that this case was ignored calls into question the political neutrality of the prosecution. The people, who have been calling for the dissolution of the Agency for Investigation of Crimes by High-Ranking Public Officials, are now calling for a major overhaul of the prosecution.
Kwon also told reporters on the same day that the prosecution had "abandoned its own prestige and reputation as the top investigative agency."
Chairman Kwon said, "From the prosecution's perspective, we are not satisfied with the current state of the investigation and believe that an arrest warrant is necessary.
"Yes, they would have applied for an extension (of the warrant period), but if the court had not granted the extension, they would have had to conduct a thorough investigation without detention and make a thorough decision on whether to prosecute or not."
" He continued, "The prosecutors did not go through the necessary procedures and instead hurriedly received permission from the Public Prosecutors' Office and filed charges."
