※This article contains spoilers. In the episode 3 of the MBC TV series "Motel California" (viewership rating: 3.8%), Kang Hee (Lee Se Yeong) meets Yeong Soo (Na In Woo).
The scene of a complete breakup was depicted. In the past, Yeong-soo went to visit Kang-hee who had left her hometown and witnessed her being bullied by the manager of a convenience store and being saved by Seok-hyun.
Soo thinks that the reason Kang-hee has been so cold towards him is because of his appearance. In response, Yeong-soo, who is intimidated by the sophisticated men of Seoul, including Seok-hyun, tells him that he is a thin and handsome man.
He vowed to become a better man and come back to see Kang Hee again, so he went on an extreme diet. Then, eight years later, on Christmas Day, Yeong Soo returned to the hotel looking like a completely different person to confess his feelings to Kang Hee.
However, Kang Hee walks into the room with Seok Hyun by her arm, shocking Yeong Soo. Kang Hee is planning to introduce Seok Hyun as her fake boyfriend to her father, Choon Pil (Choi Min Soo).
As he had planned to go there, he was taken aback by the appearance of Yeong-soo instead of Chun-pil. Yeong-soo pretended to know Seok-hyun as she was being led by Kang-hee out of the room, and told her about the events that had happened 10 years ago.
He revealed that he had met Seok Hyun at a convenience store. Seok Hyun finally realized the reason for his deja vu towards Kang Hee and told her that she had been pretending not to know him,
"Let's talk about the future instead," he said, proposing that he join his hotel design team. Kang Hee was angry at Chun Pil for causing the situation to become complicated, and declared that she was disowned.
Kang Hee, trembling, returned to the hotel room where Yeong Soo was still alone. Kang Hee felt awkward seeing Yeong Soo, who had changed into a handsome man, but at the same time, she felt a flutter in her heart.
Yeong-soo expressed his intention that Kang-hee could come to Seoul if she wanted, and confessed, "I said I would wait for you. That I will love only you for the rest of my life," making Kang-hee's heart pound so hard it felt like it would burst.
Just as the two of them were about to kiss, Yeong-soo's mother Suzy (Ji Soo-won) called, and Gang-hee was filled with memories of Hana-eup that she had forgotten.
Kang Hee, who was in pain as she remembered Suzy and the people of Hana Town, who had rejected her, told Yeong Soo, "I remembered everything. Why did I leave? Why can't you and I be together?"
As she said this, she returned the necklace that Yeong-soo had given her and turned away. Yeong-soo tried to stop her, saying, "If you go now, I won't wait any longer." Kang-hee replied, "Our first love ends here.
"Thank you," he said, swallowing his tears as he said goodbye for good.
