According to Jeju Airport Police and Korean Air officials on the 6th, at 8:20 pm on the 5th
On board Korean Air flight KE1326, which was heading from Jeju Airport to Gimpo Airport, a man in his 30s was receiving instructions from a flight attendant about the location of the emergency exits when he touched the handrail of the emergency exit, causing the cover to fall off.
During this process, a dispute arose between the man and the flight attendant, leading to a report by the airport police, who were called in to assist. The airport police removed the man from the aircraft and then took him into custody.
The flight departed about an hour later than scheduled due to the man's actions, causing inconvenience to passengers. After investigating the man, police have decided not to charge him with anti-terrorism or violation of the Aviation Security Act.
A Korean Air official said, "It was just a curiosity-based mishap," but added, "You should not touch emergency exits or other areas while the flight attendant is giving instructions."
The Aviation Security Act stipulates that passengers are not allowed to operate aircraft entrance/exit doors, escape exits or equipment, and violating this rule can result in imprisonment of up to 10 years.
