The overseas response to "Newtopia" has exploded. The Coupang Play series "Newtopia" is about a soldier named Jaeyoon and his "gomshin" (a girlfriend waiting for her lover who has joined the military).
The story is about two men running across the zombie-infested downtown Seoul and rushing to each other. It has received the highest rating of 1 in 90 reviews out of about 100 reviews on the global review site IMDB.
It received a score of 0 on Rotten Tomatoes and was flooded with praise for being one of the best K-zombie series of all time.
The unique humor created by the unique blend of originality, variety, and characters, combined with the unexpected parts, has been met with enthusiastic responses from overseas audiences.
As proof of its popularity, it has recorded notable results on Prime Video.
According to Atrol, since its release, the film has topped Prime Video in six countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand, and has also topped the charts in Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.
It was ranked in the top five in 39 countries, including Australia, Qatar, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Mexico, Peru, and Egypt.
