South Korea: ”Bombs already planted in all middle schools in Seoul”… Police investigating threatening faxes
Police have launched an investigation after a threatening fax was sent to an agency under the South Korean Ministry of Justice, stating that "all middle schools in Seoul will be blown up."
On the 13th, the Seoul National Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Team announced that it had begun an investigation into a threatening fax that was received the previous afternoon at a branch office of the Regional Immigration Office of the Ministry of Justice.
The fax contained the message, "Bombs have already been planted in all middle schools in Seoul and will be detonated at 4:33 p.m. on February 14th."
Police believe that these cases are similar to the terrorist threatening emails and faxes sent to major institutions in South Korea that have been ongoing since August 2023, and are investigating these cases together.
This case is said to be linked to 38 similar cases, including threatening emails and faxes sent up to January this year, all of which were sent from a Japanese lawyer named "Takahiro Karasawa."
At the time, Japanese lawyer Takahiro Karasawa stated in a media interview that he felt "very sorry to the Korean people" for his name being used without permission.
