"We will take all measures, including strong legal action, against those involved in the creation and distribution of this film," the presidential office said in a notice issued by a spokesperson on the same day.
"Deep Fei Kuk's video, which had the faces of the president and his wife photoshopped onto it, was aired at a rally in support of the president's impeachment at the 18th Democracy Square," he said, adding, "It goes beyond mockery of the incumbent president and his wife and is a serious insult to their character and humanity.
"I cannot help but feel angry at the violation of our rights and the criminal acts that have been committed using DeepFei. At the rally, a DeepFei video was released in which the faces of President Yoon and his wife were superimposed on a photo of them in bikinis.
The presidential office emphasized, "President Yoon clearly holds the position of incumbent president. This is a clear insult to the former head of state."
The Presidential Office expressed strong regret to those who produced the Deep Feik video, those who aired it at the rally, and those who were bystanders at the scene.
The government said it would take all necessary measures against those involved in the production and distribution of the video. The previous day, rallies in support and opposition to the impeachment of President Yoon were held on Geumnam-ro in Dong-gu, Gwangju.
Police set up a vehicle barrier on the road across Geumnam-ro to prevent participants from meeting each other.
