A woman in her 40s who came to the hospital complaining of ”sudden bleeding” abandoned her newborn baby in a plastic bag (South Korea)

Wanju Police Station in North Jeolla Province announced that it is investigating the arrest of a suspect in his 40s, A, on suspicion of murder and abandonment of the body after killing his newborn baby.
According to police on the 16th, suspect A is accused of killing a newborn baby born at his home in Wanju County on the morning of the 11th of this month, then placing the body in a plastic bag and storing it at his home.
The crime came to light during the hospital treatment of suspect A. Suspect A visited the hospital complaining of "sudden bleeding from the stool," but the medical staff did not report the birth, despite the signs of childbirth.
The absence of the child seemed odd to them, so they called the police. The police discovered a plastic bag containing a newborn baby at Suspect A's home and made an emergency arrest of Suspect A.
Suspect A told the police, "I abandoned the child because I thought he was already dead."
However, police believed that the newborn was alive at the time of birth and therefore additionally charged suspect A with murder.
A police official said, "Given the severity of the crime, we plan to arrest suspect A and investigate his specific motive for the crime."
