BOYFRIEND, which is celebrating its 14th anniversary this year, will release their first new song in six years, "Time
In conjunction with the release of "Limit", a premium showcase is being held in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kanagawa.
"BOYFRIEND" accepted an interview with wowkorea. Q. Hello! Thank you for this interview after about half a year. Last time, there were five of us, but this time, it's all together.
Now that there are six of you, please introduce yourselves one by one! Also, please share any Japanese you have learned recently.
Jeongmin: It's been a while. I'm Jeongmin. The word I learned recently is "

Donghyun: I'm Donghyun, the leader. Can you tell me one word?
Please. I want to learn it now (laughs) Minwoo: Like "No standing up"? Donghyun: "No standing up"! I don't know what it means... What is it? (laughs)
Minwoo: I'm Minwoo. The Japanese word I learned recently is "radio wave tube type." Youngmin: Nice to meet you, I'm Youngmin. The words I learned recently are "get on, get off."
Donghyun: What does it mean? Other members: (explaining in Korean) Everyone: LOL Hyunseong: This is Hyunseong. I knew the meaning from the beginning, but I only found out the meaning recently.
Q. This time, the group name will be "BOYFRIEND" and you will be promoting as a "complete group" of 6 members. What message would you like to convey to the fans who have been waiting for you for such a long time?
Is there anything you want to say? Youngmin: I'm coming back after two years, and many people sent me messages saying, "I'm waiting for you."
I want to show many things to the BESTFRIENDs (fan name for BOYFRIEND) who were there. Donghyun: It's been a while since we released a single album in Japan.
It's been a really long time since we last had a concert. I'm really looking forward to this event, and I feel like a lot of people will get to see what the six of us are like in the future. I'm excited.
Q. Congratulations on the release of your first new Japanese song in six years! Please tell us about the two new songs you recorded this time: "Time Limit" and "You Are Shining."
Jeongmin: Our new song "Time Limit" is about how we all have a time limit in our lives, so let's live life together with lots of love.
I wrote the lyrics with the desire to meet and love more fans within that time limit. Donghyun: Why a time limit?
Jeongmin: This is not a song but a personal thought, but humans will die someday. I thought that humans have a time limit, so I thought,
Donghyun: That's true, everyone has that feeling. Hyunseong: "You are shining" is something I say to myself, something I use to remind myself not to forget the light when I'm going through hard times or feeling frustrated.
The content is about remembering the dreams and shining times of the past and living your life to the fullest. wowKorea: What is the meaning behind the title "You are Shining"?
Hyunseong: Originally, I wanted to write a song with a dark theme, "You're Shining."
I thought it didn't suit the song, so I decided to make it brighter. Q. Please tell us your honest thoughts when you first heard the new song. Kwangmin: It was really good!
All: What was good about it? Kwangmin: Everything was good. The lyrics, melody, piano, drums, everything was good.
Youngmin: When I heard Hyunseong's song (You're Shining), I started humming it all the time. Then I asked him what the lyrics meant and how I should sing it.
We talked about how it was okay to write a song that would give people strength. Jeongmin's song (Time Limit) was written a long time ago, but when I first heard it, I thought it was great.
So I thought it would be interesting to show it to you again after six years. Q. What are your favorite lyrics for each of the two new songs?
Jeongmin: What is your favorite lyric in "Time Limit"? Minwoo: The part "There is a time limit" really has a lot of meaning.
Jeongmin: The lyrics are so long-winded that when I hear them, I remember a lot of different things. I like it. Jeongmin: For me, the part "The night I prayed for time to stop" is a good one to listen to when I'm going through a difficult time.
I wrote it with the message that we should work hard while thinking about other people's dreams and love, and I like how that part reminds me of a scene from an anime.
Minwoo: In "You're Shining," there's a line that goes, "If you can't feel it, then look into my eyes."
But sometimes when I'm feeling down, I think about how I don't know how bright I am, but I see your shining face reflected in my eyes, so I feel like I'm standing next to you and giving you strength.
I like it. Q. Please tell us some behind-the-scenes stories about recording and MV shooting. Donghyun: Aren't songs that you write yourself treasures? So Hyunseong was really
Other members: Vocal lessons~ (laughs) Donghyun: We can't leave the recording room unless we complete Hyunseong's mission. It was really scary.
It was a little bit long, but it was a good time. wowKorea: How was the MV shoot? Hyunseong: During the MV shoot, Jeongmin was really busy organizing the place.

Jeongmin: I like to record naturally, so I didn't let the members record for too long. I value the "feel"

Kwangmin: When I write raps, the image I get from "Time Limit" is "I don't have enough time, it's not enough," so I want to keep to time and

Donghyun: Humans are never short on time, so it's good to listen to it anytime. Minwoo: I listen to "You Are Shining" after a shower, while looking in the mirror!

Minwoo: This year, the six of us will be able to get together and work as "BOYFRIEND", so our goal is to do a lot of activities.
Our goal is to perform all over Japan and the world and meet our fans. Donghyun: Health is the most important thing this year, so our goal is that no one gets injured or sick this year.
