Naver and Kakao join KEK to strengthen response to global AI market - Korea

South Korean internet giants Naver and Kakao announced on the 18th that they would join the Korean Economic Council (KECC). According to the Korean Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry, the KECC held a regular meeting on the 20th.
The group is expected to hold a general meeting to approve the new member applications. In addition to Naver and Kakao, HYBE and game-related companies are also among the applicants.
The reason behind Naver and Kakao joining the KEK is that they believe that cooperation between companies is becoming more important in the rapidly changing global AI market.
A Naver official emphasized the importance of cooperation, saying, "Industrial trends are shifting toward AI, and business people need to work together in line with the second term of the Trump administration."
