民言連、メディアが加害者と指摘…キム・セロンさんの死を巡る批判の声=韓国
Minhyun Union points out media as perpetrator... Criticisms over Kim Sae Ron's death (South Korea)
Criticism is growing in South Korea over the death of actress Kim Sae Ron. In particular, it has been pointed out that the media played the biggest role in this tragedy, and there are calls for the media to reflect on their actions.
Although they should be in a position to do so, they are said to be shifting the blame to YouTubers and malicious comments.
"Once again, a pop culture artist has passed away due to malicious comments and attacks from YouTubers. However, there is no reflection from the media," he emphasized.
"Instead of reflecting on their own actions that contributed to this abuse, they are shifting the blame onto YouTubers and the malicious comments," he said in a harsh criticism.
The Democratic Party of Korea said that the coverage of Kim's private life had gone too far and was problematic.
For example, "Kim Sae Ron shows no remorse, latest news after self-wedding rumours" (January 19) and "Making a joke about her marriage... Kim Sae Ron's desire for attention is out of control"
When will it stop?" (January 8), "Kim Soohyeon → Lee Jae Woo Kwok X Woo Do Hwan reappears... Kim Sae Ron, the public is tired of the attention-grabbing tactics of reminiscences" (August 7, 2024)
), "Kim Sae Ron, unprecedented self-restraint heyday" (April 17, 2024), etc. In addition, reports about her return after Drunk Driving Affair are also problematic.
"Sae Ron, are you back already? ... What? No, come back!" (August 10, 2023) and "Kim Sae Ron, who made merchants cry in Drunk Driving, is returning to her main job? ... Filming a movie at Tapgol Park" (October 2024)
There were many articles that exaggerated her behavior, such as "Kim Sae Ron drinking party...unrestrained behavior, doubts about whether she is truly remorseful" (March 10, 2023).
The Korean People's Federation pointed out that some media outlets, when reporting the news of her death, "used headlines that emphasized that the day of her death was the birthday of actress Kim Soo-hyeon, once again insulting the deceased."
"The primary perpetrator who drove Kim to her death was not YouTubers or malicious comments, but the media," he said. "Sensationalism that has nothing to do with 'public interest' is a problem."
"Does the media really not know how many celebrities have become victims of their ridiculous and sensational reporting? The thoughtless reporting in the name of the 'right to know' is nothing but collective abuse."
It's sounding the alarm.
