Criticism is growing in South Korea over the death of actress Kim Sae Ron. In particular, it has been pointed out that the media played the biggest role in this tragedy, and there are calls for the media to reflect on their actions.

The Korean People's Federation pointed out that some media outlets, when reporting the news of her death, "used headlines that emphasized that the day of her death was the birthday of actress Kim Soo-hyeon, once again insulting the deceased."
"The primary perpetrator who drove Kim to her death was not YouTubers or malicious comments, but the media," he said. "Sensationalism that has nothing to do with 'public interest' is a problem."
"Does the media really not know how many celebrities have become victims of their ridiculous and sensational reporting? The thoughtless reporting in the name of the 'right to know' is nothing but collective abuse."
