China's Temu moves to establish branch office in Korea, begins recruiting local distributors (Korea)
Temu, a Chinese low-cost cross-border e-commerce (EC) site, has recently announced that it will begin a local-to-local (LtoL) business to distribute and sell products from Korean businesses.
The company announced that it will recruit sellers from Korea, and that it will be able to accept and deliver orders. Temu has decided to recruit sellers in Korea, and will be looking for Chinese sellers in the future.
Like the largest company, Alibaba Group's AliExpress, it is expected to set up an office in South Korea and dispatch a branch manager to recruit local personnel.
AliExpress will open a Korean-only website called "KEI Venue" in October 2023. In order to attract more Korean businesses, the company will reduce the fees paid by businesses until December 2024.
