When asked why he donated to the Democratic Party during the 2000 presidential election, he said, "It was to prevent the Democratic Party from becoming the party of Bernie Sanders."
Sanders is a senator from Vermont who is known for his socialist leanings. SBF's comments were met with criticism from Republican Donald Trump.
The move comes as efforts are underway to receive a pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump.
SBF has become increasingly conservative in his political leanings over the past few years.
"At the time, I considered myself to be center-left, but I don't anymore. In 2022, I no longer see myself that way," he continued.
They also expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Joe Biden administration. SBF said, "The Joe Biden administration has been really destructive and difficult to work with.
"To be honest, the Republicans have been more rational. I'm really frustrated and disappointed with what the Joe Biden administration and the Democratic Party have shown," he said.
Prior to FTX's collapse in 2022, SBF was involved in a series of political candidates and political action committees (PACs) seeking to influence the US government's cryptocurrency policy.
