China's maritime economy exceeds 10 trillion former - Chinese report

On the 24th, the Ministry of Natural Resources of China released the "2024 China Marine Economic Statistics Statement," which said that China's total marine economic output in 2024 will exceed 10 trillion for the first time.
By 2024, China's maritime economy will show strong momentum of development, reaching 10.5438 trillion former (about 218 trillion yen), up 5.9% year-on-year, and accelerating the growth of the national economy by 0.4 percentage points.
In the same year, offshore wind power generation developed, with annual offshore wind power generation increasing by nearly 30% compared to the previous year, contributing to the green and low-carbon development of the economy and society.
In addition, the marine service industry is driving the development of the marine economy. By 2024, the added value of the marine service industry is expected to reach 6.2849 trillion former (approximately 13 billion yen).
The growth rate of the marine economy was 3.6 percentage points higher than the total marine product value. The acceleration of the emerging marine industries was even more remarkable, with the value of their increase being 1.3 percentage points higher than the total marine product value.
