On the 27th, the Democratic Party of Korea announced that Kim Gun-Hee's wife, Kim Jong-un, had intervened in the 2022 local election for the governor of Gyeongsangnam-do Province, and that she was a 'political broker'.
According to the recording distributed by the Democratic Party of Korea on the same day, on March 8, 2022, Myung mentioned to an acquaintance that he was the representative of the People's Democratic Party of Korea (PDP) Yoon Han-hong.
While explaining the reasons behind why Rep. Yoon gave up his candidacy for the South Gyeongsang Provincial gubernatorial election, he introduced a message from his wife. Myung said he had heard the contents of a phone call between Rep. Yoon and Mr. Kim.
In a retelling of the incident, the outlet reported that Rep. Yoon told Kim, "I have no intention of running for governor. I am happy to be by your side."
Myung added, "Do you know what (Mrs. Kim) said to me? She said, 'Representative Yoon has no greed.'"
Around March 2, 2022, Myung recorded a conversation with an acquaintance in which he claimed he had blocked the appointment of Rep. Yoon Seok-yeol as Chief of Staff to Presidential Candidate and his candidacy for Governor of South Gyeongsang Province.
The Democratic Party of Korea said, "The recordings released in November last year and the one released this time were made on March 2 and 8, respectively, which are close to each other.
In response, Rep. Yoon said in a statement, "This is completely untrue. I had a call with Mrs. Kim around that time.
"I have never had any contact with him or any dialogue with him," he countered.
