Hong Jun-pyo, mayor of Daegu, South Korea, said of former ruling party leader Han Dong-hoon, who is being rumored to be a possible presidential candidate, "Yoon Seo-kyo is a very good man.
"He's someone who rose to prominence thanks to President Yoon Seok-yeol," Mayor Hong said on a Korean TV program on the 1st, referring to former Chairman Han, "I hate traitors like that."
"As the head of the ruling party, he should have cooperated with the president no matter what," he said.
Regarding the "center-conservative party" remarks, he said, "(Chairman Lee) lies about everything except breathing," and added, "If you can believe him, then the people are stupid."
Regarding his candidacy for early presidential elections, he said, "When former President Park Geun-hye was impeached, we handed over the government without any preparation. We must prevent such a situation.
"Therefore, when impeachment leads to a presidential election, those who should run in the next presidential election must be prepared," he said.
