The movie "The Exorcist" (director: Kim Dong-chul) has become the best occult blockbuster of 2025, garnering positive reviews from fans of the original work as well as new audiences.
It has attracted a total of 300,000 spectators (301,397 people) and is teasing its long run. "Taimaroku" depicts the beginning of a grand story in which exorcists with special abilities stand up against evil.
An occult blockbuster, this is a Korean animated film that is a remake of the original novel of the same name written by author Lee Woo-hyuk. Comparing the audience demographics by age group, last week, 100,000 fans who had read the original novel watched the film.
The overwhelming majority of the audience was in their 40s, the same age group as the original author, but recently the proportion of young audience members in their 20s and 30s who are not familiar with the original work has been increasing.
It is believed that the film is expanding its audience through its popularity. Since its release, the film has maintained a high score of 96% (out of 100%) on the CGV Golden Egg Index, and continues to enjoy viral popularity.
