South Korea's National Security Advisor responds to President Trump's ”quadruple tariff” remarks: ”It will be a more decisive factor”

Regarding US President Donald Trump's decision to take up South Korea's high tariffs, South Korean Presidential Office National Security Advisor Shin Won-sik said, "Our trade-related department has agreed to the US Commerce Department's decision to take up the high tariffs."
"We're in close consultation with the USTR and the U.S. Trade Representative, so I think we're going to get a good outcome."

Shin arrived in the US for consultations with high-ranking officials of the Trump administration, including National Security Advisor Waltz.
After entering the country, he told reporters, "It is not appropriate for me to talk about President Trump's remarks," but continued to make the above statement.
Shin pointed out that the United States and South Korea have a free trade agreement, and said, "In effect, there are almost no tariffs between the two countries.
