<Interview> Seungyeon (KARA): Since TVXQ and SUPER JUNIOR are still active, KARA can keep up!

Han Seung-yeon, actress and member of the Korean girl group "KARA", talked about her appearance in a 19-prohibited period drama and her "KARA" activities.

In an interview held at a café in Mapo District, Seoul on the 1st, Han Seung-yeon responded to fans' surprise at her appearance in a period drama that is forbidden in Korea, saying, "If you just look at my clothes, I'm wearing long wild pants and a top. However, the atmosphere is strange, and the setting of the first night and the woman taking the initiative, the lighting and the atmosphere make it seem that way," he confided. "It was less revealing than the costumes in 'Kara,'" she laughed.

She continued, "I accepted that it was my job, and I thought that if that level of detail was difficult and burdensome for my acting, it would narrow the scope of my work. As I told you at the production presentation, I was an adult from the time of my debut. It is difficult to understand why it is such a shock to me, but I think I have to be enthusiastic about doing good work in the future if there is good work to be done.”

The web drama "The Scandal Of Chunhwa" is a romantic coming-of-age drama about a princess whose first love fails, and whose declaration to find a son-in-law involves the city's most unfaithful man and most suitable man for a groom, while the city is rocked by the sensual novel magazine The Scandal Of Chunhwa. Han Seung-yeon plays the role of Ji-won, a young lady from a good family with a high self-esteem who is not afraid to reveal her intentions, leaving a deep impression on the audience with her strong character until the very end.

“The Scandal Of Chunhwa also drew attention with its watertight bed scene. I am an adult actor, singer, and do many other things, but I didn't think much about such kissing scenes or exposing myself when I decided on the film," she confided.

She continued, "I thought it (the kissing scene) was a natural part of the story, and I believe that as an actor you have to follow the direction you want to express in your work. Since I am not a child actor, this is an area that I have to do to some extent. I think I have to overcome this.”

Regarding the activities of KARA, she said, "The seniors of 'TVXQ' and 'SUPER JUNIOR' are continuing their activities. They have shown that Korean idol groups can be active for a long time, so I think we can keep up with them.

Soobin of "Tomorrow X Together" revealed that he is a fan of KARA. Han Seung-yeon said, "When we made our comeback for our 15th anniversary, Soobin came to greet us in the waiting room. He wrote me a letter and I was very touched. The people of "LE SSERAFIM" also wrote many sentences on the album, and I have kept them for safekeeping.I really appreciate it.”

She continued, "I told my friends that 'TXT'...you know? I went around boasting a lot about how 'TXT' was... you know? My friend saw Soobin and said, ‘Hey, Han Seung-yong! What are you? My heart was filled with joy when she said to me, 'That's amazing.’”

As for the activities of "KARA," she said, "I don't know how it will turn out, but actually we had been saying since our 15th anniversary that this would be the last time, the last time, but it's already been three years. There are people who keep visiting us and we have another performance at the end of this month.I think it will continue for the time being," she said with a smile.
