Luxury watch brand TAG Heuer sued over NFT patent infringement

A company developing a blockchain-based NFT smartwatch has filed a lawsuit against Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer for alleged patent infringement.
On the 10th (local time), Watch Skins Corporation filed a complaint in a federal court in Texas, USA, alleging that LVMH has violated the terms of its "innovative NFT digital assets."

The company also said it holds multiple patents related to NFT display technology. It also said that some products from LVMH-owned brands, including LVMH-owned watch brand Tag Heuer, will use the company's NFT display technology.
The company claims that the technology in question is based on three patents owned by WatchSkins.
LVMH owns French luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Tag Heuer and Tiffany.
The company is a Paris-based multinational holding company in the luxury goods industry. Watchskins has requested a jury trial and is seeking damages for patent infringement and royalties.
It also requested a court injunction prohibiting LVMH from making any further use of the patented technology.
