South Korean ruling party lawmaker: ”President Yoon's trial decision should be made after the second trial verdict for Lee Jae-myung”

Rep. Na Kyung-won of the ruling People Power Party said, "The conclusion of the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-yeol is that the Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung has violated the public office election law.
On the 16th, Rep. Na wrote on her Facebook page, "Based on legal procedures and precedents, the second trial sentence for Representative Lee is the same as the second trial sentence for President Yoon's impeachment trial.
"It is highly likely that the bill will be released before then," Na wrote. "President Yoon's (impeachment trial) arguments concluded on the 25th of last month, six days later than Prime Minister Han Deok-soo's," he said.
"If things go according to plan, it will be impossible for the presidential impeachment trial to be announced before the 26th of this month. First of all, the impeachment trial against Prime Minister Han should be dismissed," he said.
He continued, "The verdict for the second trial of Lee on charges of violating the Public Offices Election Act will be announced on the 26th of this month. Lee has already been sentenced to one year in prison, which is equivalent to losing his position as a lawmaker, in the first trial.
"If Lee's sentence is upheld in the second trial, his presidential bid will be thwarted, and the Democratic Party members who are dissatisfied with Lee will be forced to accept him as their leader," Na said.
"I believe it won't be long before he is driven out by anti-Lee Jae-myung forces."
